UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre celebrates 15 years providing radiotherapy services to the South East

UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre, one of the largest integrated networks of cancer experts in the world, is celebrating 15 years since its arrival in Waterford. During that time, it has become a cancer care partner to hospitals and organisations across Ireland’s South East and beyond.
The initiative, funded by UPMC Institute for Health, will see researchers in TUS, WIT and Waterford Local Sports Partnership come together to address this through the development and evaluation of a novel menopause lifestyle programme.

Researchers, supported by UPMC, are launching a new menopause lifestyle programme to bridge the gap in women’s health supports.

Research led by the SHE Research Group, TUS, reveals that Irish women feel inadequately supported through the menopause and the majority would welcome a lifestyle programme to assist them with their symptoms.

The initiative, funded by UPMC Institute for Health, will see researchers in TUS, WIT and Waterford Local Sports Partnership come together to address this through the development and evaluation of a novel menopause lifestyle programme.

Wexford GAA Announce UPMC Sports Medicine as Official Healthcare Partner

Wexford GAA have announced that UPMC Sports Medicine is to become their Official Healthcare Partner. The partnership agreement means that UPMC, which offers trusted, high-quality health services at UPMC Whitfield Hospital and the UPMC Sports Medicine Clinic in Waterford, UPMC Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny and other facilities across Ireland, will work with Wexford GAA to offer inter-county players top-class care and attention in sports injury and preventative care.

UPMC today announced the establishment of the UPMC Cardiac Disease Management Clinic in UPMC Whitfield Hospital that will serve patients across the South East. The aim of the clinic is to prevent, detect and treat cardiac issues at a much earlier stage, with the hope that more serious cardiac illnesses can be managed or eliminated because of early intervention.

UPMC are Establishing a One Month Joint Pain Clinic for the Month of March

UPMC have today announced the establishment of a UPMC Joint Pain Clinic that will operate from the WIT Arena for the month of March. The service will operate as a self-referral clinic Monday to Friday (051-376827), in full accordance with Covid-19 protocols, that will cater to those in need of assessment for joint pain. It will take place throughout the month of March, for people to attend and get an assessment. Should a subsequent referral for more specialised care be required following the assessment, this can be taken care of by the onsite team of specialists at the UPMC Joint Pain Clinic at the WIT Arena.
