Senior Medical Physicist – Cork

Bon Secours Health System and UPMC have formed a joint venture in Cork to own and operate one of Ireland’s most advanced Radiation Therapy centres for the treatment of cancer patients. The new centre will combine the expertise of Ireland’s largest independent health care provider with UPMC’s world-renowned model of cancer care that brings innovative and personalised treatments to patients. The new Radiation Oncology centre is currently at an advanced stage of construction on the campus of Bon Secours Hospital Cork and will be complete mid-2019. The Centre will deliver leading edge radiation technology and treatments for cancer patients.

Senior Medical Physicist

This Centre is equipped with a TrueBeam & an Edge Linear Accelerator with MLC, PV, and Respiratory Gating (RPM), On Board Imaging (OBI) and Rapid Arc and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) capabilities. The qualified candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in all clinical operations, which include 4D-CT simulation, Gated treatments, SRS, VMAT, IMRT, Hyperarc and conformal 3D planning, IGRT, and all aspects of physics QA.

The successful candidate will have an MSc in Medical Physics or related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have recently completed a recognized national training scheme and those with conformal, IMRT, VMAT, and SRS treatment planning experience.
