Our Cardiac Disease Management Clinic uses advanced technology to thoroughly assess your heart and if necessary, refer you on to a specialist for follow-up care.
According to the Irish Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death. Taking steps now, could lower your risk of a serious cardiac event.
What to expect
You’ll arrive at our outpatient clinic at UPMC Whitfield Hospital, where you’ll receive a holistic state-of-the-art cardiac assessment, the findings of which will be reviewed by our cardiac nurse specialist. This report will be shared with you and will be sent to a consultant cardiologist for review.
Should additional investigation be necessary, you will be referred on for additional tests that may include:
- 12-lead ECG
- Dobutamine stress test
- Exercise stress test
- Holter Monitoring/ Arrhythmia Monitoring
- Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Lipid Profile Monitoring
- Referral for Cardiac Rehab Phase 4 (if already completed phase I-III)
- Referral to Consultant Cardiologist for further intervention
